Thor vs. The Tube

Here are some pictures that we have taken.

Here are some pictures!  I included pictures of Caro's birthday because she didn't have any!

Caro's birthday cake.  There were even the right amount of candles.

Auntie Caro with her present from Auntie H!  A signed copy of A Dance With Dragons.

The aunties!  We attended a free Panic! at the Disco concert and were dressed weather appropriately as it was outside in October.

There were three bands that went on before Panic!  and during the last of the three, we went and played cornhole because we were freezing and also bored.  Luckily moving around warmed us up and also they gave us free blankets.  That's what Auntie Caro is wearing around her neck.  They were actually pretty nice blankets.

Thor and Odin climbed into the bag.  And we promptly tortured them.

Thor was not the biggest fan of the car.

Indiana Trip!

Last weekend Caro and I decided to drive home to see our people in Indiana.  The goal was that I was going to pack up the car post work and then run to get Caro.  I had about 20 minutes to pack up the car and so I ran around the apartment and got everything (well what at the time I thought was everything) into the car and went to pick her up with the kitties!  This however was our first mistake.  Trying to leave at 4PM on a Friday was a terrible idea and we spent about the first hour and a half of our trip stuck in Madison traffic.  As it turns out, we also left the food bowl, the water bowl, and my cell phone charger at home.  The rest of the trip to Indiana was great though.  We hit no traffic, even through Chicago, and the kitties were mostly okay.  Thor cried a lot,  but we have come to accept that that is just life with Thor.

We arrived at our hotel and little brother J brought me something to charge my phone!  We were pretty tired.  This also had to do with the fact that we were on the sixth floor and the elevator wasn't working.

We woke up the next morning and headed to see our grandma!  We had a wonderful visit, then we went to see J at work.  After our delicious lunch, we went to see H's grandma and had a wonderful visit.  Before we had dinner with everyone!  It was great, it was also a celebration for my birthday.  We had cheesecake factory and it was just great to be with family.

We sadly had to leave the next day, so we had breakfast with H's mom and then went and say M and her family.  It was just a really great visit and we were so grateful that we got to see everyone.  So thanks Indiana people for making our visit great.

Now here are some pictures:

The delicious pumpkin roll H's aunt brought!  It was amazing.
Caro at the hotel with Odin.
Bmin took a self portrait.

Bmin was all smiles.

We got tired and let Thor drive the car.

And Odin wanted to navigate.

Look how cute Bmin and Caro are.  This is our favorite picture from the trip.

Orchard!

The other weekend Heather and I spontaneously decided to go to an orchard nearby. It was a beautiful fall day and although the place was already finished with the 'pick-your-own' deal, there was a huge selection of apples.

Auntie H rocking the apple jungle.

Auntie C in the sunshine.

We met up with J, T and the always adorable nephew E for a walk amongst the trees.

E!
There was a cute little shop where they sold all kinds of apples from the farm. They were labeled with the name, what they taste like and what they're good for (cooking, storing, decorating). H and I picked out several different types, some for storing (until spring!) and some for making apple pie. Then we went gallivanting off with the whole group.

E eating a sample apple they had at the shop.

T and J looking fabulous walking together through the rows of trees.

We had a great time hanging out and chatting while E kept dropping his apple in the grass and picking it back up again. Sometimes he wanted to eat one of the rotten apples instead, but we managed to convince him that wouldn't be a very good idea.

Thor, the Godzilla cat!

Kitten Time!

Our furry companions have been behaving quite well, much to our relief. They've had their second vet visit and received shots, with only the drama queen (Thor) crying out in horror. Granted, he yells at us whenever we use a sink, so we're living a cat version of "The Boy Who Cried Wolf."

Thor curled up in his favorite spot, keeping an eye on us.

Odin curled up in MY spot, yawning at the exhausting life he leads.

In other news, Heather and I drove down to the Ikea in Chicago last weekend because sometimes I get overwhelmed by clutter and snap. We bought some more EXPEDIT shelves for the living room. We also got some white and green boxes to help us organize. So, we sat down with MythBusters and tried to put together the shelves...

The cats thought they were helping. They weren't. Especially when Odin would pick up the screws and run away with them.

Odin inspecting our work and judging us for the visible hammer marks.

Odin tuckered out from playing chase with us and the screws.

J came over and helped us put together the bigger bookcase while T hemmed pants. Heather and I hope to have more adventures like this in the future, but with slightly less cat chasing and slightly more sibling time.

Birthday!

Happy birthday to Auntie Caro! I am now a quarter of a century old! Of course I don't have any pictures of myself from my birthday, but here are some of the wonderful people who I celebrated with.

Auntie Heather rocking the fire.

Heather baked a yellow cake and made cream cheese icing (which she colored orange). It was really good.

My beautiful cake! (Notice the C in the middle?)

Joining us at the Auntie Establishment were J and T with their kiddo E.

T helping light the candles while J looked on with glee.

Our delicious spread was fantastic. We had chicken breast marinated in mango and peach salsa, cooked in the crock pot, and typical taco fixings. It was fantastic.

Our delicious dinner.

I also received several sweet and awesome gifts. Auntie Heather gave me a signed copy of George R.R. Martin's A Dance with Dragons. J, T and E gave me a picture my nephew colored and my lovely siblings wrote a cute poem. I also came home from work to this:

A bouquet of flowers in the shape of a bear! How cute is that?! Thanks Mom and Dad!

Catching Up is Hard to Do.

So we're still having a great time in Wisconsin and we still have adorable kittens (as seen in the previous post).  Last week was J's bday so we celebrated it.  Caro and I went and found him some silly gifts and then we had delicious gluten-filled and cheese filled pizza and everyone else had gluten-free, dairy-free pizza.  (In case you are new to this planet, we both really like cheese.)

We think he liked his presents.

In other news, the other night Caro decided that we were going to use all the cheese we had opened to make turkey burgers.  Turkey burgers are a quick and easy meal that we make usually once or twice a week.  We buy them frozen and just throw them in the pan when we are ready to eat them.  Anyway, Caro made them cheese hats.

Then we added bacon.  (Obviously we ate super healthy that night.)

And after we had it all put together this is what it looked like:

Delicious!

Kitten Update!

Today's dose of cute is brought to you by Thor and Odin sharing a heart-shaped plate of food.

And after a long day of chasing each other and touching everything they can get their paws on, they curled up together for a nap.

Awwww!
